A fabulous four-week course designed to inspire your child to become an Incredibly Clever dog trainer.
Spend an hour a week with your dog and child where they take the lead - literally! Whilst we teach them all the skills required to become a fantastic Circus-dog trainer (with a little help from you), you get to watch them develop into the dog trainer they dream of being. Side benefits include a better behaved dog!
The course is carefully designed to build our young-learners’ skills as a trainer over the four weeks. Our hour-long sessions are free flowing and dynamic, responding to the group’s abilities as we progress together, week by week.
Your child will leave with a solid foundation of the principles of training, empowering them to go on to greater adventures together, limited only by their imagination and your dog’s individual talents.
A wonderfully inclusive and creative four-week course that utilises collaboration rather than coercion to get results. Working together in this way strengthens the bond between your child and their dog, building confidence and developing the skills of self control, co-operation, negotiating distractions, listening and respect in dog and trainer alike.
Your dog will benefit from training with a young handler just as much as (and perhaps more than!) with an adult trainer. Benefits for your youngster include increased patience and responsiveness, a greater sense of responsibility and a stronger relationship with their dog, all achieved whilst you take a back seat and enjoy watching them take the lead.
Prerequisite: Please ensure your child has completed a Super Saturday session prior to attending the Circus Starters course
How it works
Following a Super Saturday taster you, your dog and your child trainer spend an hour a week for four weeks at the Incredibly Clever Canine Circus training ground on the Surrey/Hants border. The groups are small. A maximum of four families and their dogs allows us to work in a truly bespoke way with each dog and trainer working at a level that suits them. Young trainers should be aged around 10+ and need to bring an appropriate adult who can assist them at each session.
